Cava’s bubbles collect our memories and experiences: each sip of the Spanish quality sparkling wine carries us back to magical moments, as well as storing up new experiences. This was the case with the writer, TV presenter and wine expert, Helen McGinn, who transported her audience to sunny Mediterranean climes with the fizz of Cava, leaving behind the grey autumn at home.

The rainy afternoon of 20 October was illuminated by a memorable presentation about Cava by the renowned presenter of BBC's Saturday Kitchen for a group of five leading English food and drink journalists and influencers.

Helen took her audience on an informative journey through the distinct types of Cava, from Cava de Guarda to Cava de Guarda Superior Gran Reserva, accompanied by pairing recommendations, anecdotes and personal memories of Cava over the years.

"I came to the tasting knowing relatively little about Cava compared to other sparkling wines, but Helen quickly rectified that. A highly informative presentation and tasting, with a great introduction to the wide variety of Cavas available on the UK market,"
Millicia West of GQ.

Within the context of Cava Discovery Week in the UK, this virtual meeting resulted in the information being widely disseminated, as well as motivating end consumers to select Cava with any type of food. As journalist Rachael Hogg of Food Tribe points out in her article, Cava Discovery Week: Why you should think about picking a bottle of Spanish fizz:

"Cava is delicious, it's seriously great value for money, and there's a whole world of flavour out there waiting to be discovered".
