Cava is much more than just bubbles; it is tradition, origin, quality, effort and passion for achieving an authentic and unique product. For this reason, the Cava Designation of Origin has launched a series of educational webinars aimed at the media and the trade for two of its main export markets: the United Kingdom and the United States.

The webinars, entitled "The 360 degrees of Cava", take the form of a panel discussion format, led by one or two renowned hosts in each country, as well as three Cava producers, to share their wisdom and experiences first-hand. This joint event brings together wineries and local sales potential to increase knowledge of the category.

During the summer months, two simultaneous webinars were held between the two Cava markets, led by the educators and reputed wine professionals, David Kermode and Katherine Cole.

On 30 June, we talked about the evolution of winemaking in Cava, its history and new perspectives for the future, with the active participation of the Alta Alella, Codorniu and Vilarnau wineries. The talk served as a context for the professionals to learn more about the history of viticulture and the traditional method that produce Cava, as well as being able to see the constant innovations in the oenological field closely linked to sustainability and ecological practices.

Segmentation and the Mediterranean origin of Cava was the topic of the second virtual seminar, held on 28 July with the kind participation of the wineries Faustino, Giró Ribot and Parés Baltà. A much-awaited talk for both markets that allowed them to learn more in detail about the new regulations on segmentation and zoning, and also to get the wineries' perspective on the subject.

During the year we will also hold two further webinars for professionals in both markets, in which we will examine the versatility of Cava, the distinct types of styles and Cava, and the permitted grape varieties.
