Two-starred chef Seichi Honda from Zurriola restaurant in Tokyo presents his special menu for Cava Discovery Week to the Japanese press

In addition to the digital press conference held on 28 October for the Japanese market, delivered by renowned Sommelier Takayuki Kikuchi, on Friday 29 October the tasting menu of the two-star Zurriola restaurant in Tokyo was presented to a select group of 10 Japanese journalists, paired with a selection of 5 Cavas.

This event was presented to the Japanese press as an appetizer for the first edition of Cava Discovery Week in Japan, to be held from 1 to 10 November in 20 gourmet restaurants in Tokyo's prestigious Ginza district, with a live demonstration of one of the menus paired with Cava.

Zurriola is a small, elegant restaurant located in the central Tokyo neighbourhood of Azabujuban. With two Michelin stars, this emblematic restaurant serves haute cuisine inspired by the most traditional flavours of Basque gastronomy with Japanese touches. Its owner, renowned Japanese chef, Seichi Honda, has prepared an extremely special menu for the occasion to showcase the different flavours with which Cava can be paired.

Zurriola restaurant is one of the 20 restaurants participating in this first edition of Cava Discovery Week. Each of the establishments has embraced the initiative enthusiastically, and has prepared a tasting menu with seasonal ingredients designed to be paired with Cava. These events once again demonstrate the versatility of Cava, as well as its superb quality and close link with gastronomy.

Until 10 November, this selection of gourmet restaurants with top Tablelog scores, including four Michelin-starred restaurants, located in the most prestigious district of Japan's iconic capital, are highlighting the value of Cava when paired with haute cuisine.
