In collaboration with IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) and Food FM, the renowned wine writer David Kermode presented a Cava Special on his weekly podcast The Drinking Hour.

Journalist, broadcaster and international wine judge David Kermode discussed the Cava D.O. in his podcast The Drinking Hour, a relaxed and informative programme that aims to be a guide on what to drink, and why. The programme included the special collaboration of the president of the Cava D.O., Javier Pagés, and the Master of Wine Dirceu Vianna Junior MW.

Listeners were treated to a journey through the origins of Cava, its long winemaking history and traditional method, as well as an explanation of the new segmentation and zoning regulations, in this programme dedicated exclusively to Cava.

Dirceu Vianna Junior MW highlighted the superior quality of Cava, as well as the complexity and excellence of this Spanish sparkling wine, made using the traditional method and blessed with the Mediterranean climate.

"Cava is made following the traditional method, and has the potential to be very complex, with beautiful brioche and toasted notes that we associate with excellent sparkling wines (...) The quality of Cava is exceptional; if we were to taste it blind, everyone would say that this is a champagne of the highest quality - that's how good Cava is."
