On 29 September, there will be an online seminar and tasting, aimed at trade
professionals and the press on: The versatility of Cava, different styles and grape
varieties.
Led by renowned wine expert Susy Atkins, there will be a panel discussion with three
D.O. Cava wineries to showcase the different types and styles of Cava made with
distinctive Cava grape varieties.
Susy began her career as a young wine writer in the early 90s with WINE magazine. In
1997 she became co-editor of the Which? Wine Guide, and since then has worked on
seven editions of the guide. Susy now writes a weekly column for the Sunday
Telegraph Magazine, and is drinks editor of Delicious magazine.
Among the books she’s written are Wine Wisdom, How to Choose Wine, Wine Made
Easy, and the humorous Girls’ Guide to Wine pocket guide, a best-seller in several
countries. She has won both the Glenfiddich Food & Drink and the Prix du Champagne
Lanson awards for her books. In 2014, she won the prestigious Champagne Louis
Roederer International Wine Writers’ Award for the best short copy wine columnist for
her work with Stella magazine, and at the end of 2016 was awarded the Communicator
of the Year prize at the second Rioja Recognises annual awards ceremony in London.
Susy is familiar to many wine and food lovers as a wine expert and regular presenter of
BBC1’s flagship cooking show, Saturday Kitchen, which attracts an audience of
between 2 and 3 million viewers each week.
