Consumer Tasting UK with Laura Clay
On 27 May, a tasting specifically aimed at end consumers will take place in the UK, led by the renowned wine consultant and educator, and chair of the Association of Wine Educators, Laura Clay.
This activity is part of the promotion of the D.O. Cava in the UK market for 2021.
Laura Clay began her career in the world of wine with the German shipper Hallgarten. During this time she obtained her WSET Diploma and realised that the wine business was to be her lifelong vocation. Later, she opened her own small business selling wine.
Laura’s knowledge and enthusiasm for wine has made her a well-known and popular lecturer and educator of wine professionals in the UK. Much of her work consists of corporate tastings for companies, wine courses and lectures for wine clubs, as well as consultancy, writing and staff training for the on-trade.
She is currently Chairperson of the Association of Wine Educators, and sits on the council of the Midlands Wine and Spirit Association.
The UK is one of the key markets for Cava: according to the latest data, UK was the fourth market in the export ranking, with a total of 20.726 million bottles of Cava sold in 2020.
