In September, the Cava D.O. welcomed a visit from five women prescribers from the United States and the United Kingdom who specialise in wine communication.

From 26 to 29 September, we toured the Cava region with these wine experts and influencers. A total of 100 Cavas tasted, 11 wineries visited, a master tasting with the Master of Wine David Forer, as well as a meeting with nine women from the Cava Woman collective, were part of this trade mission that explained the latest news about Cava’s promising future in two of its main markets.

The programme of activities took into account the variety of wineries that form part of the Designation of Origin, providing an immersion in Cava, with rewarding encounters for the prescriptors at each of the wineries.

Undoubtedly the participating wineries made the difference in this trade mission, opening the doors of their homes and showing every detail of how their Cavas are made, with love and passion:

Agustí Torelló Mata; Alta Alella; Canals i Munné; Caves Bertha; Mastinell; Oriol Rossell; Parés Baltà; Pere Ventura; Rovellats; Vilarnau; and Vins el Cep.

The visit allowed us to show the heart of Cava in depth, opening up to international markets with the sparkling voice of each of our future ambassadors:

Sarah Unser, San Francisco-based wine influencer; Hannah Milnes, wine influencer based in London and part of The Wine Collective; Jaime Brown, writer for The Wine Enthusiast; Kathleen Willcox, freelance journalist for SevenFiftyDaily, The Wine Enthusiast, Vinepair, Liquor.com; and Emily Cappiello, chief editor of Gourmet Insider.
