Cava strengthens its position in the prestigious Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2020
6 gold medals and 20 silver medals for illustrious Premium D.O. Cavas
Confirming the superior quality of the excellent Cavas that are being produced currently, this year Cava has performed strongly in the respected competition The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World
Championships, winning 6 gold medals and 20 silver medals.
As a result, D.O. Cava has strengthened its position and distinguished itself in this esteemed contest, becoming one of the leading sparkling products.
Out of Out of 1.073 leading sparkling wines taking part from 30 different countries, the CSWWC awarded a total of 128 gold medals and 237 silver medals to wines from 19 different countries. The jury, formed by three reputed experts, Tom Stevenson, Tony Jordan, and Essi Avellan MW, honoured the following Cavas:

The competition is not over yet, however, and the awards for Best in Class, National Champions and World Champions, by wine style, will be revealed during Virtual Awards Week of the CSWWC, which takes place from 7 to 11 December.
The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) is the only international sparkling wine competition judged by specialists in the field, for the new generation of consumers of these wines who enjoy them on any occasion.
The CSWWC endorses the origin and promotes world-class sparkling wines from all regions as gastronomic wines par excellence. The competition is now in its 6th year and continues to grow in size and importance – this is the first year that more than 1,000 wines have been entered. As this is the most comprehensive and rigorous sparkling wine competition in the world, it is a great honour that so many of our D.O. Cavas have won awards in 2020.
