Cava conquers New York with Cava Discovery Week

The agendas of New York wine-lovers were filled with different Cava-related gastronomic events during Cava Discovery Week in New York this September.

For the third consecutive year, Cava arrived in the Big Apple stronger than ever, with special offers in restaurants, specialised shops, pairing menus, and face-to-face events open to the public.

The long-awaited Cava Week took place from 16 to 25 September, making the start of autumn in the city a unique experience, as well as demonstrating once again the potential of Cava with seasonal menus, in more than 20 fashionable establishments and specialised shops in the city.

This event revolved around the consumer and included attractive ideas for discovering Cava as the highest quality and most versatile companion to make any occasion unique, including dish routes, exclusive pairings, Cava and cocktail night, quality bubbles Monday, and other parallel events with influencers and opinion leaders.

One of the parallel activities was an evening of cocktails with Cava at the trendy New York cocktail bar 360 Social, led by sommelier and mixologist Sara Lehman. At this exclusive event, the different types of Cava were explored, as well as its versatility, and its compatibility as a main cocktail ingredient, along with a pairing menu prepared by chef Mario Batali.

The first day of the week can be an uphill struggle, so why not let Cava bubbles liven it up? This was how we kicked off Cava week, banishing the Monday blues with Cava at SOMM Time restaurant, with Maria Rust and chef Angie Berrie, together with Blaine Ashley, founder of The Fizz is Female.

To round off the week in an accessible and relevant way, Blaine Ashley and chef Jonah Miller of Huertas restaurant in Manhattan, prepared a delicious menu based on Cava and conservas (canned seafood).

Cava Discovery Week aims not only to raise awareness of Cava and its qualities among the most select palates, but also to support the restaurant industry and encourage the professional public to learn about Cava and increase its presence in their establishments.
