On 2nd March this year the president of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Cava, Javier Pagés, called together over 6,000 wine growers registered for Cava to tell them at first hand about the Cava wine denomination’s Strategic Plan, and clear up any doubts or queries.
The municipal auditorium in Vilafranca del Penedès was the venue for over 400 people working in the wine-growing sector, a highly satisfactory attendance that shows their interest and reflects the good practices of the regulatory council in terms of communication and transparency.
This is not the first time the D.O. Cava has opened its doors to wine growers, but this was a particularly large meeting at which the council of the D.O. Cava reached out even more to everybody involved in Cava.
The Cava growers considered this meeting a great success and expressed their satisfaction at what Pagés said and at this initiative, which may become an annual event.
The strategic plan of the D.O. Cava rests on three pillars: segmentation and zoning, the guarantee for consumers and promoting Cava as an international premium brand.
