On 9 and 14 April, the D.O. Cava was present at the Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Barcelona (ESHOB) to offer two Masterclasses about the D.O. Cava.
Xavi Viles, professional sommelier and regular collaborator of the D.O. Cava, delivered both masterclasses offering detailed information about the wine, which were received with great interest by the students of the ESHOB's Intermediate and Advanced Degree in Catering.
In each training session, which lasted three hours, the main topics were the long history and tradition of Cava, its high quality, the traditional method, and the new segmentation and zoning regulations, which will come into force from the 2021 harvest onwards.
In addition, the Masterclasses culminated with an eagerly awaited tasting of different types and styles of Cava. These showed not only the considerable quality and variety of Cavas available on the market, but also the best way to serve them, and their great versatility and close connections with gastronomy.
Both training sessions were given in person, respecting at all times the safety measures and protocols established for Covid-19.
