On 22 September, an online seminar and tasting will take place, aimed at trade and press professionals, on the theme: The versatility of Cava, variety of styles and types of grapes.
Master of Wine Martin Reyes will lead a panel discussion with three wineries from the Cava D.O. to present the different types and styles of Cava made with distinctive Cava grape varieties.
Martín Reyes is the first Master of Wine of Mexican descent. With a prolific career as a buyer, importer, wine educator and, more recently, winemaker, he has played an influential role in many sectors of the industry.
Martin's wine story began with an over-indulgent dinner while studying in Paris as a Stanford undergraduate and, by 2003, he was stocking the shelves of K&L Wine Merchants in California. After managing a retail shop in Napa Valley for several years, Martin was hired as lead buyer and importer for prominent wine club programmes for partners such as The New York Times and Williams-Sonoma. In 2015, he worked the harvest at Salomon Undhof's Kremstal, and that same year, Martin was named one of Wine Enthusiast's Top Forty under Forty Tastemakers.
