Taking place on 21 September, this special edition of the competition will be held as part of the UK Sommelier Association’s prestigious Gold Awards, one of the association’s flagship annual events celebrating excellence in the world of wine and hospitality.
This collaboration brings together the UK’s most talented sommeliers for an elevated showcase of skill, creativity, and passion — all centred around the craftsmanship and diversity of D.O. Cava.
From blind tastings to expertly curated food‑and‑wine pairings, the event will highlight the versatility of Cava de Guarda Superior, offering an elevated exploration of Spain’s iconic sparkling wine and the premium quality, tradition, and innovation behind it.
All registered candidates complete an online assessment designed to evaluate their knowledge of Cava, and professional understanding. Only the highest‑scoring participants advance to the in‑person finals.
Finalists will have the opportunity to attend the live competition in their respective country. During this stage, candidates will face practical challenges evaluated by an expert panel jury.
