International Editions of the Competition

UK Edition

Taking place on September 21st and held in partnership with the UK Sommelier Association, this exclusive competition celebrates the prestige, diversity, and craftsmanship of Cava. A unique opportunity for sommeliers across the UK to showcase their expertise on an international stage and become the Best Cava Sommelier in the UK.

USA Edition

Taking place on November 5th at SommCon San Diego, this edition brings the competition to one of the leading wine education hubs in the United States. A unique opportunity for sommeliers to demonstrate their Cava expertise through tasting, theory, and service challenges, and become the Best Cava Sommelier in the USA.

Competition Phases

The competition is structured in two phases designed to evaluate both theoretical knowledge and practical sommelier skills. The first stage is an online preliminary phase open to all applicants.

Those who achieve the highest scores will be invited to the in‑person final phase, where they will face practical service challenges evaluated by an expert jury.

1.Online Preliminary Phase

All registered candidates complete an online assessment designed to evaluate their knowledge of Cava, and professional understanding. Only the highest‑scoring participants advance to the in‑person finals.

2.In-person Final Phase

Finalists will have the opportunity to attend the live competition in their respective country. During this stage, candidates will face practical challenges evaluated by an expert panel jury.
