Alto Ebro

ALTO EBRO Rio Ebro VALLE DEL CIERZO Vitoria-Gasteiz Golfo de Vizcaya Logroño Pamplona Zaragoza FRANCIA

The Alto Ebro (Upper Ebro) sub-zone, located in the western sector of the Ebro Valley, consists of a wide territory framed by mountain ranges, crossed by the river Ebro, and opening up into spacious valleys between the mountains and the river along its course. This location reaches a maximum altitude of around 600 metres above sea level.

Its main characteristic is the confluence of two climates: the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. This is an ideal combination for the vine: a mild climate with moderate annual rainfall, thanks to the barrier formed by the northern and southern mountain systems, reducing the clouds and precipitation.
