D.O. Cava at the Goya Theater with "El Gran Comediant" by Joel Joan
From December 3rd to June 19th Cava is a significant part in the play "El Gran Comediant", starring Joel Joan and Xavi Mira.
The play "El Gran Comediant", on stage at the Goya Theater in Barcelona for more than 7 months, includes the participation of thirteen wineries of the DO Cava, where each of them will be the protagonist every week of the play, besides being able to taste the Cava of the play before and/or after the play at the Goya Theater.
This activity is organized in collaboration with the Confraría del Cava.
Brief synopsis of the play:
Llorenç and Ernest are two great lifelong friends. They both decided a long time ago that they wanted to be actors, but they have had unequal careers. While Llorenç has long had the saint's face and has seen his fame grow (as well as his ego) to become a divo of the Catalan theater, Ernest has not quite made it.
When finally, at the age of 50, Ernest decides to throw in the towel, Llorenç gives him a motivational speech worthy of the best self-help coaches in the world, even though he secretly pities him and believes that Ernest would really do well to give up.
What Llorenç could not foresee is that, against all odds, his motivational speech seems to have really taken hold and Ernest makes a radical turnaround in his life. Suddenly things start going very well for him, in every way... much better than Llorenç can bear. His compassion for his soulmate turns into uncontrollable jealousy and from that moment on Llorenç will do everything he can to sabotage his great friend's success.
Anything goes in this unhinged competition that will literally become a matter of life and death.
